Vernon Vraagom has released a new album, It’s time to give.

Covid-19 affected everyone, from households to businesses, yet there are those who saw it as opportunity to do something worthwhile.

For music artist and Vredenburg resident Vernon Vraagom this was a source of inspiration, a prelude to being creative and working on a new album.

He explained his album, entitled Its time to give, paid tribute to all the front-line medical workers and those serving in many other ways on the front lines when the pandemic was at its height and most severe. “We are thankful to them, for they did far more than they could,” Vraagom said. “It was indeed a time to give.”

The album features other artists on its title track. The artist also shared that producing an album in a time of Covid presented its own challenges. He says he had to find ways to make it materialise.

Of the title track, for example: “Artists as far afield as Namibia, the Boland and Cederberg had to send their voice recordings to me, which we then had to work on before completing the track.”

Vraagom says he is very proud of this album. “I believe in my music. I will make music until the day I close my eyes forever, and it will even play on.”
