The launch of Phase 1 of The Village at Langebaan Country Estate, a retirement and lifestyle development, was announced at a pre-launch event on 24 and 25 October.

People who had registered their interest were invited to the event where they were able to pre-book their unit at The Village, which is due to begin construction early next year.

After years of plotting and planning, studying the changing landscape of retirement and consulting experts in the field around active retirement, special needs and frail care the group has planned The Village with the best interest of their residents in mind. The Village is not your typical retirement village but rather a vibrant community offering residents all the established comforts, facilities and activities within the 450-hectare Langebaan Country Estate.

Craig Scott, CEO of The Village, says, “We wanted to create a place where lifestyle meets secure, stylish, affordable living in a dynamic community that combines residential, recreational and healthcare facilities so that you can really enjoy the best years of your life.”

The Village will offer spacious, north-facing home types from 1 and 2-bedroom courtyard suites to 2 and 3-bedroom freestanding Life Right cottages, all with optional care packages. A levy stabilisation fund will further secure your lifestyle investment and peace of mind.

Facilities and services at The Village will include a private clubhouse with restaurant, bar and lounge, hairdresser, laundry, library, coffee shop and function room, frail care, home care, assisted living, security, landscaping, exclusive-use gardens, maintenance and cleaning services and a transport shuttle.

Residents will have access to the Langebaan Country Estate’s many sports and leisure facilities which include an 18-hole Black Knight Design golf course, driving range, mashie course, two outdoor swimming pools, bowls club, tennis courts and extensive running and cycling paths.

Adds Scott, “You have the right to select the type of lifestyle that you want – you need a place to enjoy life, play golf, take up bowls, go to the gym when you want to, have the kids over for a weekend, go for a walk, a run or take a bike ride in a safe environment, enjoy your pets, pop down to the restaurant for a bite to eat and, most importantly, feel part of a community – this is that place!”
