The final leg of the West Coast Street Mile series was a resounding success on every level. Hosted by Langebaan Athletics Club (LAC), Leroy Jacobs of LAC said they were thrilled with the excellent turnout of athletes.
“Runners from all over brought their incredible energy to the streets each weekend. The atmosphere was absolutely electric and the cheers from the crowds and the support from the community created a truly memorable vibe for all participants. Best of all, the weather was on our side, providing perfect running conditions for each event,” said Jacobs.
Over the course of three weekends, athletes made their way to the Seabreeze Hall in Langebaan, showing nothing but good spirits, resilience and dedication.
According to Christopher Rodgers, race director, this event is a great opportunity for locals from the West Coast to take part in their own area.
“It is also a great way to promote athletics within communities and the development of the youth. A huge thank you to everyone who ran, volunteered and cheered.
“We can’t wait to do it all again next year,” said Rodgers.
Jacobs said what stood out about the Street Mile series was the sheer determination and inspiring dedication of every participant.
“We are profoundly grateful for the support. We want to thank all our sponsors, Weslander, Printteq, Flamingo Properties, Saldanha Bay Municipality and our main sponsor, Stiaan Viljoen from Bheka Management Services.”
