Two sisters who left Langebaan a decade ago to live in Singapore with their parents have returned with a bash, opening up a modelling academy, a fashion design studio and a nail salon, and showcasing the first fashion show at the Nautica Mall.

Doné and Mikayla Maingard bade farewell to Langebaan 10 years ago. Overseas, Doné immersed herself in the world of business and, as a qualified fashion designer, carved a niche for herself in the competitive fashion industry, gracing the pages of renowned magazines such as Female with her distinctive style.

Meanwhile, Mikayla also delved into the intricacies of fashion design, intertwining it with her passion for nail artistry. She qualified as a nail technician while gaining invaluable experience modelling for various fashion brands.

Now, after a decade, the Maingard sisters return to their roots armed with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Determined to give back and inspire the next generation, they unveiled their innovative ventures on Saturday 13 April, igniting excitement with their carnival-themed fashion show at the Nautica Mall.

The models strutted their stuff on the runway, graced by exquisite creations to the wonder of all who were present.

With their businesses, the Lady Fae Modelling Academy (LF), the Fashion Design Studio and the Nail Republic salon they want to empower the youth and ignite their dreams. Doné and Mikayla plan to breathe life into their businesses with “innovation, creativity and relentless determination”.
