In celebration of Public Service Month, the Government Communication and Information System West Coast(GCIS), in partnership with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), Department of Employment and Labour, Langebaan police, West Coast College and Mfesane, hosted a service-delivery day in Langebaan.
The initiative took place on Thursday 18 September (Public Service Month), and formed part of government’s ongoing commitment to bringing services closer to communities, ensuring citizens have direct access to vital information, resources and support.
The day provided an opportunity for residents to engage with various departments and institutions on matters ranging from employment opportunities, education, safety, health care and voter participation. GCIS West Coast said Public Service Month is a reminder that government exists to serve the people. “By working together with key partners we are strengthening service delivery and empowering communities.”
The IEC highlighted the importance of citizen participation and encouraged community members to register, update their details and prepare to exercise their right to vote in future elections.
The Department of Employment and Labour said its focus was on equipping people with opportunities, skills and information to improve livelihoods and reduce unemployment in the region.
Langebaan police emphasised community safety, partnerships and promoting safer neighbourhoods.
