Personnel from West Coast District Municipality’s Fire and Rescue Services underwent high-voltage vehicle-battery and related component firefighting training held in Cape Town.
The training, provided by Porsche Head Office in Germany, equipped firefighters with the skills to extinguish high-voltage fires. These types of fires are much more complicated to handle because of chemical reactions.
The training was coordinated by the Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMi) in South Africa, with firefighters, emergency responders and Disaster Management officials attending.
