To motive and invite more locals to engage with the West Coast Business Development Centre (WCBDC), this month’s success story also celebrates Women’s Month. Our profile for this week’s issue is on Brynmor-Rose Zimri.
Engage to Succeed HR Services is the company Zimri established after a recent move to the West Coast from Pretoria. “I have 14 years’ experience working for Pretoria PPC, and my first job was in human resources,” she said, “so when I had the chance to start my own company here in Langebaan I wanted to go back to human resources.”
Zimri, who describes herself as a generalist with a forte for learning and development, offers a full basket of human resources services, including recruitment, HR administration, induction and onboarding programmes, learning, training, needs analysis, building workplace plans and liaising with other sub-contractors.
“I sub-contract with a company that offers diversity, supervisory and leadership training, so I offer its products.” She also has links with health and safety training and industrial relations.
Zimri’s passion is for learning and development because it empowers employees. “It informs them to become better decision makers, it creates ownership and encourages them to develop a sense of responsibility.
“I find the industrial relations aspects the most challenging, and I find that learning and development reduces the need for industrial relations intervention. I prefer to be proactive than reactive.”
