Back for its third time, Die Koelkamer presents its Paternoster Summer Fashion Experience ’23.
This will take place on Saturday 25 November at 12:00.
Started by Die Koelkamers owners Jan Malan and Greg Meyer in 2020 to bring the local Paternoster community together for a fun day of fashion and beauty, the show features the real people of Paternoster as models.
With experience in staging such shows in various countries in Africa and New York, both Malan and Meyer have enough extensive knowledge to host one here.
Malan said starting Die Koelkamers was quite a blessing.
“This fashion show is our way of giving something back to the community, giving people joy and confidence,” she said.
“It is a way to connect the community to come along and watch their own people modelling.”
Malan added the excitement of seeing the locals, whether it be your neighbour or friend looking like a real model on the runway, is an amazing experience on its own.
“Also, guests will be able to experience and appreciate the fashion showcased by our local shops.”
Professional hair and make-up artists who have worked on fashion weeks will give the real models a makeover, while Malan and Meyer will give them modelling tips on how to walk the runway.
Guests can look forward to top fashion designers, such as Johan Botha and Nyambo MasaMara, who will join local fashion houses, Ancient Spirt, The Boho Beach Shop and Sea Love.
Tickets to the Paternoster Summer Fashion Experience cost R115 and starts at 12:00. You will also get to enjoy a glass of bubbly on arrival.
