Learners who recently completed their matric exams and are unhappy with their results now have the opportunity to have their results revised and re-checked.

The Western Cape Departement of Education (WCED) has opened registration for all 2018 NSC examination candidates to have their scripts remarked.

Applications for re-marking or re-checking can only be done online using the registration services on: www.eservices.gov.za.

No hard copy applications will be accepted. Candidates can also apply to have their scripts re-marked for subjects they have failed or if they did not obtain the results they feel is a true reflection of their performance on the papers written. A re-mark means that the original answer script is marked for a second time by a marker. A re-check of your scripts is a further check to ensure that all questions are duly marked and that all marks are correctly calculated. Fees will apply for re-marking (R105) and re-checking (R25). Candidates looking to take a second stab at their examinations can write supplementary examinations. Only candidates who were registered for and wrote the November 2018 NSC examination can apply. Application forms and additional information can be found on the WCED website wcedonline.westerncape.gov.za.

The closing date for applications for re-marking, re-checks and supplementary exams is Tuesday 22 January.
