With a few subjects completed, matriculants in the West Coast are still positive about their National Senior Certificate (NSC) exam which started on Tuesday 21 October.
Thiedu du Preez from Vredenburg High School said the exam started on a good note and that the topics of Afrikaans and English Paper 3 were quite exciting.
“The subject I am most looking forward to is physical sciences, because I have such a great passion for it and I had the privilege of having the best science teacher in the country. That is why I know that I am well prepared for it.” Du Preez said the stress and uncertainty that his fellow matriculants are experiencing through the exam will ultimately lead to good results and a bright future. “Give it your all. The end is in sight.” He hopes his results will reflect the hard work and long hours he has put in.

Siviwe Nomnganga from New Vredenburg High School has also had a great experience with the exam thus far and looks forward to the upcoming papers. He looks forward to writing maths and history as these two subject challenged him a bit throughout the year. “But I am confident of what I’ve prepared for these subjects. To my fellow mates, you’ve come so far and you have overcame numbers of challenges. Throughout this year you’ve met a better version of yourself, you can do it and you can make it.”
Nomnganga believes he will achieve a Bachelors pass because of all the hard work he has put in.

Another matriculant, Arlin Brutus from Weston High School, shares the same sentiments of a good experience with the exams. “So far I have had a good experience with the exam, actually much better than I expected. I am looking forward to every subject I have yet to write.”
“A little encouragement I have for the matric class of 2025 is study hard, stay focused and give it your all. This is your final exam, everything you have worked hard for over the years has led up to this point, the time has come to make your parents and yourself proud and show everyone what you are capable of. Believe in yourself, reach for success and remember your future starts here.”
