Jano Percy Reynolds, grade 6 learner of Curro Langebaan, won overall first place at the annual Inter-Curro Robotics competition involving Curro schools around the country.
For the independent JSE-listed education provider, the competition enables learners to build, programme and test-drive their robotic models and pursue various challenges X all in a competitive environment.
This is the competition’s fifth year in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape, based on the World Robotics Olympiad (WRO) theme, “Sustainable Tourism”.
It was designed by Hands on Technologies, a non-profit that inspires young people to pursue science and technology, which also donated the first three teams’ prizes and spot prizes.
Winner Jano (12) shares overall first place with Waldo Smit of Curro Mossel Bay.
