The Saldanha Bay Industrial Development Zone Licensing Company (SBIDZLiCo) has started monthly talks that aim to give local business insight into the oil and gas industry.
The TOGASI (Talks on the Oil and Gas Services Industry) series is hosted every second Thursday.
The talks, which cover a different topic each week related to the industry, are hosted by Benedicta Mahlangu, Executive: Ease of Doing Business with the SBIDZLiCo.
Mahlangu has seven years’ experience working offshore on oil rigs in the upstream industry.
“Our aim is to build awareness around the oil and gas topic and to highlight the imperative role the West Coast Community has to play within this industry and the SBIDZ development,” said a statement from the SBIDZLiCo.
Topics covered so far have focused on what the oil and gas industry involves, the components it consists of and jobs available in the industry.
The next session will look at life offshore – who it is exactly who cooks, cleans and runs the ship.
It will take place next Thursday 13 August at the Protea Hotel from 09:00 till 10:00.
