This week is the last chance for October brides to enter the annual Weslander en Weskus Mall Bride of the Year competition. Entries for the fifth competition opened in September. Brides have to get their entries in the month after they were wed.
Ladies who were married in October have until Friday 25 November to enter. A panel of independent judges will then select one bride from the group of newlyweds. The winning bride of October will be announced in the next edition of Weslander.
One bride is selected each month with each month’s winner that will then go on to take part in the gala event next year.
This year’s winning bride, Yvette Gillespie from Vredenburg, walked away with romantic getaways, free accommodation at the five star Commadore Hotel in the V&A Waterfront, cash prizes and much more.
The competition is open to all brides 18 years and older, who married between September 2016 and August 2017.
The bride has to live in Weslander’s distribution area or lived there until the date of her wedding.
Entries cost R250. Entry forms should be accompanied by a head and shoulders as well as a full length photograph.
