The Western Cape Education Departement (WCED) is appealing to part-time candidates to ensure they confirm their examination centre before writing their first papers.
According to the department a number of part-time candidates arrived late for their examination last week, as they had first gone to the wrong exam venue.
Candidates who arrive late for an exam do not get additional time, and those who arrive more than an hour late will not be allowed to write.
“Therefore we appeal to all candidates to confirm their venues before writing their first examination,” a department statement said. “We want the best opportunity for these candidates to pass these examinations. Arriving at the wrong venue can cause considerable stress and could result in the candidate not writing.”
Candidates can check the WCED website https://bit.ly/2RjQ7fC to confirm where their examination venue is. They can enter their surname and identity number when doing so.
