As part of their cricket development, KFC held their annual West Coast Regional Mini Cricket Festival at Saldanha stadium with around 200 local learners to develop the sport and an active lifestyle.

Cricketers from St Andrew’s, Saldanha, Noordhoek, St Helena Bay, Middelpos and Hopefield Primary schools as well as Longacres Private school battled it out. According to West Coast coordinator Yolandi Kotze the kids thoroughly enjoyed the day. “In Mini Cricket there is never a winner – the main focus for the kids is to have fun and enjoyment and to get kids active,” she told Weslander.

Aside from a day of fun the under -7, -8 and -9 teams also received a new cricket kit thanks to Vredenburg KFC.
