Joanni among Curro’s top 3

One of the West Coast’s top matriculants was recently honoured at the Curro Matric Top Achievers Awards ceremony in Johannesburg.

Joanni Skinner of Curro Langebaan Independent School claimed a tied-third place in the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) category, for 2019.

Learners from across the country attended South Africa’s largest JSE-listed independent education provider’s awards ceremony, which was held to honour the group’s top academic achievers.

The top Curro learners were Gary Grant Louw (94,14%) of Curro Grantleigh; Wiehahn Johan Kamfer (93,43%) of Curro Mossel Bay and a shared third place for Ruan Viljoen (72,57%) of Curro Hazeldean and local Langebaner Joanni.

She plans to study medicine at Stellenbosch University this year.

The awards ceremony included learners from Curro schools who completed the Independent Examinations Board (IEB), National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Cambridge Assessment International Education examinations.

In 2019 Curro’s IEB schools achieved pass rate of 99,48 %.
