In early November Ronald Kock, a teacher at Diazville High School in Saldanha, qualified as one of the top five finalists in the Super Schools competition presented by News24.

Although Kock did not win he still received recognition from Screencast-O-Matic for his use of screen recording software to record lesson videos.

Being a finalist in the competition was a great feeling.

“Not knowing who nominated me I feel appreciated,” he said. “Knowing where I came from, for me the future looks bright.

The competition’s aim was to celebrate teachers who go beyond the call of duty for their learners.

Kock explained he designed the innovation to help teachers record their lessons and make it accessible to learners.
