It is Heritage Month and Die Koelkamers decided to pay its respects to those that came before.

Homage to the Strandlopers featuring Dizu Plaaitjies, Elton Lesch, also known as Die Khoiman, and Ancient Voices will be live at Die Koelkamers on Sunday 25 September.

The Strandlopers are a Khoikhoi-derived group of people who lived by hunting and gathering food along the beaches of south-western Africa, originally from the Cape Colony to the Skeleton Coast.

Plaatjies is a Xhosa musician best known for being the founder and former leader of the South African group Amampondo.

Lesch and Ancient Voices will celebrate indigenous African instruments and voices.

The show starts at 14:30 and tickets are between R100 and R220. To book tickets www.diekoelkamers.com.
