The Mustadafin Foundation has made its way to the West Coast to assist the community.

Nazeema Kamish from Mustadafin Foundation, along with volunteers, gave about 5 400 people a warm meal. With the help of the Saldanha Bay Municipality (SBM) Speaker Olwene Daniels, Cathy Bowers, Norman van Wyk and Sophia Smit this took place on Saturday 30 July at various venues, including at the Witteklip Community Hall, Ongegund Community Hall and the Louwville Civic Centre.

Thousands of community members from greater Louwville filled their bellies.

Altogether 380 food parcels were handed out to the elderly and frail and about 1 000 children received party packs. Community member Bowers said all praise goes to the Almighty God for having opened the door of blessings through the Mustadafin Foundation, with many such occasions still to come to the West Coast.

For van Wyk the highlight of the event was when ouma Lena, a 92-year-old resident from Louwville, was treated to enough food hampers to last her for four months. “Prior to the visit from the foundation, ouma Lena lost the only few possessions she had in a ravaging fire that destroyed her home, which has since been restored by SBM,” said van Wyk.

Smit added that the Mustadafin Foundation truly lives by their motto which reads “if each man can feed his neighbour, then who needs feeding in the end”.

They would like to thank every volunteer who participated.
