The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) will soon embark on a distribution process through-out the four Coastal and Inland Provinces.
The Department intends to commence the distribution process on Monday 23 November until Friday 11 December to hand out application forms and sector-specific policies in the following sectors: Abalone, Hake Inshore Trawl, Horse Mackerel, KwaZulu-Natal Sardine Beach-Seine, Large Pelagics (Tuna and Swordfish Longline), Netfish, Patagonian Toothfish, Seaweed, West Coast Rock Lobster (Near shore) and West Coast Rock Lobster (Offshore) fishing sectors as well as the Fish Processing Establishment sector.
The distribution centres will be open from 08:00 until 16:00 at the following places and/or areas: Vredenburg (Louwville Civic Centre) from Monday 23 November to Friday 11 December and Saldanha in the Fisheries Compliance Office on the same dates.
People are allowed to collect, complete and submit the application form on behalf of another person(s) or company, if they have an authorisation letter that is dated and signed, a certified ID copy (individuals) or registration documents (legal entity).
Application forms must be completed and attached with all required documents, be submitted at the receipting centres from 11 January until 22 January 2016.
DAFF will not provide any assistance with the completing of the application forms, but will only help with explaining the application forms and sector policies.

The final application fee per sector has been gazetted and published in a Government Gazette, no 39417, dated 16 November 2015 and on the Departmental website www.daff.gov.za.
The application fee is not refundable.
Fishers can apply for more than one right for any other commercial fishing sector, provided minimum requirements in that sector are met. This application process excludes small-scale fisheries.
The grant of right fee is payable by all successful applicants upon the granting of rights prior to distribution of application forms.
The final grant of right fee shall be gazetted and published in a Government Gazette.
