Everyone knows it’s moms who are truly the best cooks X so if you are looking for curries, be sure to visit JMPA Indian Cuisine. After all, it is where owner Michelle Reddi happily applies the cooking skills she acquired from her mother.
Saldanha curry fans can now enjoy authentic Durban style cuisine.
JMPA Indian Cuisine, which opened on Monday 25 April, was a dream come true for Reddi who spent 18 years in the defence force. After 10 years on the SAS Saldanha base, the former chief petty officer says she and her family feel at home on the West Coast.
“It was an adjustment at the beginning,” she admits, “as I’m originally from the big city of Durban. Now I really love this place and want to share my passion for cooking.”
Diners don’t have to be fearful of the Durban heat at JMPA Indian Cuisine, as dishes can be made with “less burn”.
But those who are brave of heart – and stomach – can be sure to try the wonderful dishes, which include traditional breyani, rotis, bunny chows, butter chicken and their soon-to-be famous samoosas.
JMPA Indian Cuisine is located at 79 Main Street, Saldanha. They are open Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 18:00 and Saturday from 10:00 to 15:00, it also provides takeaways for customers. The eatery also caters for private functions. Contact Reddi and her team at 082 578 5044 and follow them on their Facebookpage www.facebook.com/JMPA-Indian-Cuisine.
