Curro Langebaan primary chess players took part in various online chess tournaments. The players kept themselves actively involved in online tournaments, with some of them playing more than 100 games on the ChessKid platform. They also competed on the Lichess platform, where Matthew Opperman played 408 games, Mischke Schoeman 202, Caylen Kleynhans 195 and Zanco Basson 140 games. The chess players were all awarded a small “King” or “Queen” trophy by Natasha Opperman, chess organiser at the school.
