Various organisations took hands to ensure a cleaner West Coast.
Two events were held last week in support of National River Clean-up Day, which took place on Wednesday 18 September and International Coastal Clean-up Day on Saturday 21 September, in support of CapeNature’s “Don’t be Trashy” drive.
Several organisations and individuals assisted in planning and organisation and assisted with sponsorship.
On National River Clean-up Day children from Noordhoek Primary School and members of the community cleaned a section of the Berg River.
The Riviera Hotel venue was used and Knot Xtreme used their boat to transfer children across the river.
On International Coastal Clean-up Day a section of Laaiplek beach between the Laaiplek harbour and the end of Atlantic Shores estate was cleaned.
A total of 103 rubbish bags of litter was collected.
