If you are a talented singer, dancer, rapper or stand-up comedian and want to promote your talent, don’t miss the Cape Coast Youth Festival on 15-16 December, at the Ronnie Louw sports field in Hopefield.

Cape Coast Youth, a registered youth organisation, are organising the event with Radio West Coast, Star Struck Records and The Rainbow Cruise, weekly on DStv.

George April, convener, said the festival is about promoting local talent and the prize includes a recording or management deal from Star Struck Records.

Learners must be enrolled by their schools and the winning school will be awarded R5 000, but the competition is open to the public as well. Winning public participants will have to nominate a school to receive the prize money. Participants will share the stage with young talented Cape artists such as Chloë Raubenheimer (14) from Belhar, Cape Town. She is the newest star of Star Struck Records.

Brilynn van Rooyen, owner of Star Struck Records, emphasised that this is a big opportunity for artists to get their music on radio. “We will help to improve the quality of music choices and songs.”
