Matriculants of 2019 who are unhappy with their National Senior Certificate (NSC) exam results have various options for 2020.

Learners who failed their exams can either get their exam papers re-marked or they can apply to rewrite the subject.

Learners who want to rewrite the NSC exams must remember:

. You may register provisionally to rewrite while the department investigates any irregularity regarding your exam.

. You will need to rewrite all the exams (papers) of the subjects you register for.

. You can only write supplementary exams if you were registered to write the NSC 2019 examination in the Western Cape.

. You must ensure that you know where you must write your exam because the number of exam venues is limited.

The department will mail an admission letter.

Applications for supplementary exams close on Friday 31 January with the exams taking place in May/June.

The application form for the supplementary exams is available at high schools, district and provincial education offices or can be downloaded from the WCED website.

Anyone who would like to have their examination papers re-marked must remember their original answer script will be marked for a second time by a marker.

A re-check of your scripts is a further check to ensure that all questions are duly marked and that all marks are correctly calculated.

The cost of re-marking is R112 per subject and R27 per subject for re-checking. Western Cape NSC candidates who have a valid South African ID number can apply for the re-marking, re-checking and viewing of scripts using the online application.

Applications for re-marking or re-checking close on Wednesday, 22 January and revised results will be available by Friday 28 February.
