Prospective Stellenbosch University (SU) students have until Sunday 30 June to apply for undergraduate accommodation and study there.

The institution is rated as one of the top three universities in South Africa, according to various international university rankings.

“We are very excited about the number and quality of applications for 2020, proving that SU is a first choice university,” says Dr Celeste Nel, Director: Centre for Admission and Residence Placement. “We are, however, still concerned about the more than 8 000 applications that are incomplete and as a result cannot be considered.

“Prospective students are requested to get their applications in sooner than later to give themselves some space and time to complete the application, which includes uploading the necessary documents and making changes if necessary.”

If you are looking to apply to other Western Cape institutions note that the University of South Africa’s (Unisa) applications open in August. The University of the Western Cape’s (UWC) close on 30 September, while applications for Bachelors of Dental Surgery there close on 31 August.? University of Cape Town (UCT) applications close on 31 July.

Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) applications opened on 13 May. Universities have online application portals that make it easy to apply for one’s studies without physically having to go to an institution.

Private and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges, such as West Coast College, Northlink College, Damelin and City Varsity, are open throughout the year. Application dates depend on the courses students are interested in, so they must contact these institutions directly for application information.
